Long-term observations of hourly subsurface temperatures along the SAMBA transect at SAMBA Mooring 8 (December 2015 - April 2017)

The South African component of the international South Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation project (SAMOC-SA) aims to characterise the time-mean and time-varying components of the SAMOC in the South Atlantic Ocean and monitor the variability of the main Southern Ocean frontal systems associated with the Antarctic Circumpolar Current (ACC), south of Africa. Here we present processed hourly subsurface temperatures from an Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) located at a depth of 619m at M8 (34.4993°S; 17.3011°E) along the South Atlantic MOC Basin-wide Array (SAMBA) transect in the Cape Basin region of the South Atlantic Ocean, between 02 December 2015 and 05 April 2017.
